Placeholder images
Placeholder images for layouts and prototypes
Need an image fast for a card, header, or product slot? Create dummy images with a fixed size and color — no stock photos and no account.
Why placeholder images?
While real photos are missing, placeholders keep the layout stable. Instead of gray boxes you get real files (JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF) you can use to check loading, scaling, and embedding.
Control size, color, and text
Set width and height, pick background and text colors, and optionally add a short label. You immediately see how the image sits in the layout — and can reuse the same URL in code.
Image URL or download
Embed the image by URL (e.g. /1200x800.webp) or download the file. Both work for demos, design handoff, and local development.
Where people use them
Product cards, large header images, shop galleries, or profile photos in admin screens. Fixed sizes stop the layout from jumping before real files arrive.
Share with the team
Paste the image URL into tickets, pull requests, or design notes. The same settings produce the same image — handy for reviews.
FAQ
Can I use transparency?
For images without a background, use the transparent PNG/WebP generator. The standard generator makes solid placeholders.
Does it work offline?
The live URL needs internet. For offline demos, download the file and keep it locally.
